My dad introduces me to Alex as the grocery manager of the Stop&Shop location that we just took over. He thought he was "such a gentleman". I asked for his number so that we could work together. He told me no. He was the actual worst.

Alex was on a week long vacation and suddenly decided that I was actually the most amazing person he had ever met. He invited me to lunch at Burke's. I told him I would call him when I finished my work for the day. I didn't call for three hours. When I finally did call, he was uninterested in speaking to me. The next morning at 5:30 AM, I parked in front of Burke's and took a picture. I sent it to Alex and said "Just got here. Are you already inside?" He now knew I was both gorgeous AND hilarious. Score.

Alex said it was on me to plan the next meal. I invited him to Lazy Boy on a Saturday night. I got there VERY early. By his own account, Alex changed his socks 4 times. You would've thought this was a date. We never specified this was a date. Alex paid the bill when I went into the bathroom. I asked him to drive me to my car. When he turned the car on, Taylor Swift was on the radio. Score again.

For the seven weeks following Lazy Boy, we had dinner together almost every night at Burke's with an occasional visit to a different restaurant. We watched football together every Sunday. We talked about everything under the sun. We were sitting in Burke's during the AFC championship game. The bar was so loud that you couldn't hear anything anyone was saying. Everyone was screaming and cheering. Alex handed me a piece of paper asking if I would be his girlfriend. The screaming started again. It was obviously for me. Score.

I booked a surprise cruise with Celebrity Cruises for Alex's birthday. He had no idea where we were going until we were boarding onto the ship. The last night before we were back home, Alex told me he needed to stop by the sunset deck to "look at the grass". I don't know why I bought that but I don't think I was paying attention. When we got up there, Alex told me how much he loved me and how he wanted to give me everything I wanted in this life. And then he pulled out a ring. I was in actual shock. As soon as I was finished freaking out, I Facetimed my brother, Dominic. The whole boat knew we were getting engaged. People were congratulating us left and right. He had been telling everyone the whole week. He was obviously excited to have me as a fiance. Triple score.
